Bangladesh, known as Kochur Chora in Bengali and Arabian, known as قلقاس in Arabic. Japan called the vegetable is Satoimo. More other name is Kochur Mukhi, Arbi, Arvi, and small Taro Root. Satoimo are available year-round. Arbi is often prepared much like its starchy look-a-like, the potato. It cannot be eaten raw. Arbi must be cooked in order to remove the irritating calcium oxalate. It is usually cooked and testy with the fish into a curry.
